Why Meridian
The name Meridian embodies our commitment to guiding each child towards their highest potential. In geography, a meridian represents an imaginary line that connects the poles, symbolizing balance and connection. Just as pilots and sailors use meridian lines for guidance, at Meridian Montessori, we foster an environment where children are encouraged to explore, connect, and grow in harmony with the Montessori philosophy. Our approach nurtures curiosity, independence, and a love for learning, ensuring that every child is supported on their unique educational journey.
Our families come to us from across West Plano and the towns just north of it — the streets around Legacy West, the neighborhoods inside the 75024 zip code, and a short drive down the Tollway from Frisco.
A Day at Meridian
Every day is thoughtfully designed to nurture curiosity, independence, and joy.
Children are warmly welcomed by their guide. They put away their belongings independently and choose their first work of the day.
The heart of the Montessori day — an uninterrupted 3-hour work cycle where children choose purposeful activities that build concentration, independence, and mastery. Along the way, guides present individualized or small-group lessons based on each child’s developmental stage and interests, and children serve themselves a morning snack when they’re ready.
Fresh air and movement on our outdoor playground — climbing, gardening, sensory play, and unstructured time to develop gross motor skills.
A communal mealtime where children set the table, serve themselves, and practice table manners and conversation — building community every day.
12:00 PM · Half-Day DismissalHalf Day, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Younger children nap while older students enjoy quiet activities like reading, puzzles, or drawing — honoring each child’s need for rest. Art, music, cultural studies, and science fill the rest of the afternoon, and children return to their work to revisit materials or complete projects.

Learning at Their Own Pace
Children work individually and in small groups. Their guides observe each child’s interests and readiness before introducing a new concept.
Five Areas of the Curriculum
Specially designed Montessori materials invite exploration across Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Cultural Studies.
Screen-Free Classrooms
No televisions, tablets, computers or other screen-based devices are used for entertainment or instruction in our classrooms.
Movement Every Day
Toddler and Primary children have a minimum of 60 minutes of active play every day. For Primary, at least 30 of those minutes are outdoors, weather permitting.
Positive Discipline
Four principles guide our approach to behavior: connection before correction, mutual respect, long-term effectiveness, and social and life skills.
Respect for each child as a capable and worthy individual.

Children move up with their age group, so most families start in one room and finish in another. Monthly rates for every program and schedule are set out on our tuition and fees page, and our classroom-by-classroom availability shows where there is room today.
